Meet the Team

Melvin Omar Roberson

Founder & Managing Partner

Melvin Omar Roberson is the Founder and Managing Partner of THE MORCLEND GROUP, a private equity firm dedicated to acquiring and transforming small, owner-operated businesses through operational discipline, strategic innovation, and community-centered stewardship. Before founding Morclend, Omar served as VP of GPO Strategy at Sodexo, where he cultivated Vizient relationships—driving over 60% of Sodexo’s U.S. healthcare revenue. With 20+ years in healthcare, supply chain, and operations, he has held leadership roles at UT Medical Center and Vizient. He earned a B.S. in Computer Science (Math minor) from Alabama A&M and an M.B.A. from UT Arlington, and is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Omar currently leads Service First Initiatives, Inc., a youth-development nonprofit, and enjoys chess, cooking for his wife Christina, and time with his sons, Omar Jr. and Marco.
